Canesten Duo

This provides both oral and cream treatments for thrush in men and women. The oral capsule is a single dose and the cream is provided at the appropriate strength.

The Canesten capsule is an effective single dose treatment for vaginal thrush or penile thrush. The thrush cream provides immediate soothing relief from the external itching and soreness caused by the infection.

If you are unsure whether you have thrush check with your doctor.

Not recommended for use in adults over 60 years or children under 16 years except on medical advice.

Do not use if:
- You are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breast feeding,
- You are taking the medication cisapride or terfenadine.

Consult with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if:
- You have any of the following symptoms: irregular vaginal or abnormal vaginal bleeding or a blood stained discharge, ulcers, blisters or sores of the vagina or vulva,
- You are suffering from lower abdominal pain, pain or difficulty in passing urine, fever or chills, feeling sick or vomiting, a foul smelling discharge from the vagina, diarrhoea, redness, irritation or swelling,
- You are taking any other medication.
- You have liver or kidney problems or any other chronic disease.

For MEN do not use without first talking to your doctor if:
- Your sexual partner does not have thrush,
- You have sores, ulcers or blisters on your penis.
- You have an abnormal discharge from your penis.
- Your penis has started to smell.
- You have pain or difficulty passing urine.

Consult your doctor before using if:
- You have had more than 2 infections of vaginal thrush in the last 6 months,
- You or your partner have ever had a sexually transmitted disease.
